Belnet is actively participating in the construction of a European infrastructure for blockchain services (EBSI) andwill co-organize a series of events in 2021 with the aim of informing and meeting the blockchain community in Belgium. The first event will be held online on February 24, 2021.

As we announced in a previous newsletter, Belnet is actively participating in the construction of a European infrastructure for blockchain services (EBSI).

On February 12, 2020, the first Belgian node was implemented by Belnet. Now that the infrastructure is in place and operational Belnet is continuously improving the infrastructure and the way in which technology is applied. Belnet also wishes to benefit its community by supporting the development of "use cases" intended, among other things, for research projects or implementations in higher education and by guaranteeing them a reliable and secure execution.

It is with this in mind that Belnet will co-organize a series of events in 2021 with the aim of informing and meeting the blockchain community in Belgium.

These events are the result of a collaboration between Belnet, Smals, FPS BOSA and KU Leuven who have formed a Belgian consortium whose objective is to deepen the use of blockchain technologies in the fields of research, education and public services.

The first event will be held online on February 24, 2021. It will address, among other things, the technical and non-technical aspects of the blockchain and give an overview of the current "use cases" and possible applications in the future.
