Does my organisation have to be a member of the Belnet R&E Federation to benefit from eduVPN?
eduVPN also integrates easily with different identity management systems like LDAP, SAML, … Your organisation is therefore not required to be a member of the Belnet R&E Federation. However, it is much easier to use the federated IdP server.

What user data is logged by eduVPN?
In principle, we let eduvpn stores the minimum default information in the logfiles, such as the persistent user id used to initiate the vpn connexion, the originating IP address of the client, the time when the vpn is established, the errors during the vpn session, from which platform it has been initiated (such as operating system), etc. Institutions don't have access to these logs; there is some limited logs query possible via the webinterface portal. We monitor the number of established connexions and the used bandwidth by the VPNs according to our monitoring platform settings. (=zabbix)
In which region and with which party is this data stored?
Server is located in our datacentre around Brussels, nothing is stored outside Belnet's infrastructure in Belgium.
How long is this data kept?
Typical time for our log rotation on eduVPN server is a week (7 days), with a rotation every day. No longer saving time.
How are the prices calculated?
Prices are calculated according to your needs. There is no licence fee.

How can I cancel the service?
At the end of this one-year period, both PARTIES may terminate the contract at any time, subject to a notice period of a minimum of three months after notification by registered letter.
This termination will take effect on 1 January of the year following the delivery of the notice during the current calendar year.
