Join us for an exclusive hands-on workshop on Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), hosted by Belnet as part of the BeQCI project on 9 December 2025 at the Belnet offices (WTC III, Brussels).
What’s happening?
QKD is a cutting-edge technology that allows ultra-secure key exchange for data encryption, using the principles of quantum mechanics. It is designed to protect sensitive communications against emerging threats, including the potential of quantum computers, which could one day break many of today’s classical encryption methods.
As part of the BeQCI initiative, imec and Belnet, together with other academic and industrial partners, have developed a quantum-safe communication infrastructure in Belgium. This workshop gives you a unique opportunity to try out the equipment and explore its potential applications for your organisation.
Experts from Belnet, imec, LuxQuanta, Think Quantum, ID-Quantique and Q*Bird will introduce you to QKD and the hardware used in the project. After the introduction, it’s your turn: gain hands-on experience with QKD, test a use case from your organisation, and see how the technology works in practice. The QKD equipment will be on display throughout the event.
Who should attend?
This workshop is aimed at application owners or anyone interested in exploring this groundbreaking technology from organisations where highly secure data transfer is critical, such as:
- Banks
- Hospitals
- Governmental organisations
- Research & education
- Industry and high-tech
- Start-ups
- ...
Why join?
- Learn directly from QKD experts
- Gain practical, hands-on experience with quantum security technology
- Explore how QKD could benefit your organisation’s secure data needs
- Network with peers and leading vendors in the field
